Rewards will be paid to those who voluntarily surrender firearms



By Resolution No. 179 of the Cabinet of Ministers of March 25, 2025, amendments and additions were made to the Regulation "On approval of the Regulation on the procedure for voluntary surrender of unregistered firearms and their ammunition, explosive materials and explosive devices to internal affairs bodies and on the procedure for rewarding those who surrender firearms and their ammunition."


The following procedure is being established for the transfer of weapons and their ammunition:

  • an individual applies to an internal affairs body or a preventive inspector and hands over the weapon and (or) its ammunition;

  • On the same day, the internal affairs body receives the weapon (ammunition) and issues a receipt for keeping an account of the weapon (ammunition);

  • after which appropriate investigations (pre-investigation examination, ballistic examination, database examination) will be conducted by the responsible departments of the internal affairs bodies;

  • The relevant commission will make a decision on awarding the applicant.


A reward of 5 to 500 percent of the MNM is provided for the voluntary surrender of weapons or ammunition, in particular:

  • for rifled firearms, for combined (rifled and smooth-bore) firearms - 500 percent of the MMR;

  • for smooth-bore firearms – 400 percent of the MRL;

  • for a barrelless firearm (a weapon in which a cartridge case is used as a barrel) - 300 percent of the MMR;

  • for pneumatic weapons – 100 percent of the MRL;

  • for edged cold weapons (rapiers, swords and maces), for throwing weapons (bows, crossbows and spears) - 50 percent of the MMR;

  • for electric shock devices, spark generators and other devices whose damaging effect is based on the use of electrical energy – 30 percent of the MRL;

  • for a signal weapon – 25 percent of the MRL;

  • for gas weapons (gas cylinders filled with tear gas or caustic substances, mechanical sprayers, aerosol devices and other devices) - 15 percent of the MRL;

  • for the patron – 5 percent of the BHM;

  • For the barrel, bolt, magazine (drum), frame, and receiver – 75 percent of the MRO.


If the weapon is damaged, the reward amount is halved.
