Negotiations will be held with the USA to facilitate visa processing for Uzbek citizens

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to begin negotiations on the introduction of a 30-day visa-free regime for US citizens entering the territory of Uzbekistan and easing visa requirements for Uzbekistanis. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs must submit a proposal on the results of this issue within 3 months.

On May 15, 2025, a presidential decree was adopted on increasing the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan and expanding the range of tourist services.

In order to increase the flow of tourists to the regions of the republic, the decree established a visa-free regime for citizens of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Sultanate of Oman for a period of 30 days from the date of entry into the territory of Uzbekistan, starting from June 1, 2025.

According to the decree, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been tasked with introducing a 30-day regime for citizens of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan to enter the territory of Uzbekistan with an internal document or ID-card, including a "kinder passport" for citizens under 16 years of age.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also instructed to begin negotiations on the introduction of a 30-day visa-free regime for citizens of the United States of America to enter the territory of Uzbekistan and the simplification of visa requirements for citizens of Uzbekistan to the USA. The Ministry must submit a proposal on the results of this issue within 3 months.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to assign local khokims to the relevant regions within two weeks in order to increase the number of foreign tourists from the countries of the European Union, Russia, China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Arab states of the Gulf.

Local khokimiyats, together with the diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan abroad, must approve, in accordance with the established procedure, territorial programs for expanding ties in the field of tourism with the territories assigned to them. Source: kun.uz
