Uzbek citizens deported from the U.S. return to Tashkent

Nearly 100 Uzbek nationals were repatriated via a special charter flight.

On April 30, a special charter flight was carried out on the New York–Tashkent route to return Uzbek citizens who were in the United States without legal grounds and included in the list of foreigners to be deported. This was reported by "Dunyo."

It was noted that nearly 100 Uzbek citizens were brought back to Tashkent. Additionally, the deported individuals included citizens of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

It was emphasized that the majority of them had spent many months in migration centers after attempting to illegally cross the U.S. border.

Earlier, the U.S. government expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan for organizing the deportation of its citizens.

"We thank Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for leading the effort to send an aircraft to return 131 undocumented migrants to their homeland. We look forward to continuing our cooperation with Uzbekistan to strengthen security and uphold the rule of law," the statement said.
