To enter Russia from June 30, a QR code will be required

Foreign citizens entering Russia from June 30 will be required to receive a QR code through the "Gosuslugi RuID" application. This must be done no later than 3 days, and in emergency situations - no later than 4 hours before arrival.
Starting June 30, 2025, foreign citizens entering Russia visa-free will be required to undergo preliminary registration and receive a QR code through the "Gosuslugi RuID" mobile application. The Consular Department of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia warned about this.
The QR code must be provided upon crossing the border.
To register, you need to create a personal account, upload photos and personal data, and indicate the period of stay in Russia. The application must be submitted at least 72 hours before the trip.
If the need to arrive arose suddenly (for example, a serious illness or the death of a close relative), the application can also be submitted 4 hours before arrival, the message says.
Belarusian citizens, children under 6 years of age, and persons with a visa, temporary or permanent residence permit are exempt from registration.
For children aged 6 to 18, the application is submitted by their parents or legal guardians - they must also have a personal registration code.
It is reported that the new rules will come into force on the basis of the resolution of the Government of Russia dated November 7, 2024 "On conducting an experiment to approve the rules and conditions for the entry and exit of foreign citizens and stateless persons from the Russian Federation."
Earlier, on December 1, an experiment was conducted to collect biometric data (photos and fingerprints) of foreign citizens entering the country at four airports of Moscow - Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky, as well as at the "Mashtakovo" checkpoint across the state border in the Orenburg region.
From June 30, on the basis of the same resolution, changes are being made to all checkpoints on the Russian border.
